We reached the end of the challenge. And this time, it has been quite short for everyone (and for some,Β way too short, they didn’t have time for almost anything). But before we see the results of the #killteam2020 challenge,Β a quick reminder of what this is about:
Mission objective: 100 points of Kill Team (with at least 5 models).
Timeframe: 2 months.
Contenders: These dudes (plus those who joined us using #killteam2020 on their instagram):
End of the challenge: Let’s see who made it to the end. We’ll begin on a positive note, with those who managed to finalize it on time:
Quest completedΒ Armando!Β A very well chosen warband for a challenge like this, adding up forces to his army which is slowly growing to a considerable force:

Here we did not fail, Winter delivers! He was definitely our best bet.
And just like Armando, Winter benefited from the challenge, and now musters an interesting force of Space Wolves:

A very motivated Lucas gave it all and managed to complete the painting of all the basic troops of this army project, and finalized the Kill Team challenge while doing that. Amazing stuff!
He mentions being dissappointed for not managing to finish the leader of the warband on time. Considering that he greatly overcame the initial challenge… I think we can forgive him for that one.
But he hope to see it in a not so distant future!

Pablo also delivers. He was new to our challenges, but he had good references. He hasΒ proved to be a prolific and effective painter. In this time he has completed the painting of a whole Indomitus box and he had even time to complete the Kill Team challenge. He leaves no miniature unpainted!

Unexpected!
The last to join the winners party, and against all odds, was Paloji. There wasn’t much hope of him getting this far, but after the toughest battle ever seen against white priming and Contrast paints (believe me, what an incredible showdown between miniatures and white priming layer), he managed to call it done.
Good ol’Β PalojiΒ deserves some following on hisΒ instagram:Β paloji83
Now comes the not so positive part. Here’s the remaining 50% of the contenders, those who could not complete the challenge on time:
Judging by our previous campaigns, 50% of defeated painters was not that bad. But we were expecting much more of painters such asΒ Santi,Β MΓticoΒ orΒ Berek. Obviously nobody was expecting Porta, Piti or Nor to complete the challenge, that’s for sure.
We were also not expecting Volomir to finish it, yet another campaign organized by him that he hasn’t managed to complete on time (facepalm). However, this time he deservesΒ that we highlight some of the work he has put into his Kill Team, as it seems his Kill Team questΒ does not end here…
After numerous conversion hours, this is how his Alpha Legion Kill Team looks like. What started as an unsavoury Ultramarine warband:
Soon revealing their true identity:
Soon they were looking like this:
And now this is what we are looking at:
No, I didn’t complete the challenge. Life prevented me from devoting the necessary time to see these guys properly finished.
But I don’t consider this a failure. This is not the end for Krixxor’s Kill Team.
These lads will end up infiltrating the enemy lines as they should… and they will fulfil their mission, in due time.
