We are pretty sure that if we talk about Alfonso Giraldes ‘Banshee’ you will know who we are referring to. He is one of the referents in the miniature painting world and a catalyst for a painting movement around the world which advocates a vision of painting much less framed and free of limiting rules.
Several months ago, the artist inaugurated his own line of sculptures bringing to market a brand of his own, which allows him to develop models that fit with his particular point of view of the miniatures art. Despite the fact that the catalog is still scarce, hundreds of different interpretations of some of his ‘Anonimous’ busts have already been created, especially because they have served as canvases to students in his courses.
On the occasion of the release of the second version of ‘Anonimous’, Alfonso has decided to launch a contest that aims to motivate us to squeeze our most creative facet. It’s about creating our best version of the second Anonimous, where any kind of idea is allowed. The jury will be looking for creative entries above all, but also looking for colour treatment, the difficulty and risk of the proposal, technical capacity and comprehension and interpretation of volumes among many other parameters.
It is a great opportunity to let your imagination run wild, and we invite you to participate because we are sure that it will help you see miniatures from new and unexplored points of view.
We leave you with all the information about the contest (in English), as well as the presentation of the jury, in which you can see that I have the honour of being a member, together with our colleague Marc Masclans and other titans of the brush.
Looking forward to your creations!
