The attack AGAINST the clones

When it comes to supporting the miniature industry, there’s no excuses!

Terry is a colleague hobbyist that bought this miniature from eBay.

You may remember this figure because it was a very cool release from Nuts Planet sculpted by Alfonso Giraldes (Banshee). To Terry’s surprise, what he thought was a great second hand buy on the internet, turned out to be a recast.
What is a recast? A recast is normally an unauthorized copy of a figure made usually by amateurs and sold on the internet as if it were the original piece. This practice is completely unethical, illegal, and should never be supported. When someone purchases a recast, it is basically helping people rip off artists and professionals who don’t see a dime for their work. This practice endangers the viability of their already fragile businesses.

Without a doubt, if you want the miniature industry to keep creating great art for everyone, do not buy recasts!

In Terry’s words:

This model was a recast. The resin was horrible. It was brittle and there were flaws all over. I know how hard the sculptors work and I know that this undermines them and the traders. I refuse to paint this shit. I have demanded my money back through eBay. If you accidently buy a recast then don’t paint it, ask for your money back. If you knowingly buy a miscast then you are settling for cheap nasty chemically unsafe trash. Support our industry.
If you do have a recast in your collection please throw it in the bin, I don’t recommend setting fire to them, the resin is toxic.

Be like Terry. Burn your recast! Burn the heretic!
