A research team from the Chemistry department of the Oregon University discovered by accident a very intense blue pigment while searching for useful materials for electronics. The material created was a very bad electricity conductor but had an incredible colour.
The author of this research, who had previously worked in ‘DuPont’, realized that the material had extraordinary properties and could serve as basis for a shade of blue that could not be obtained from a single pigment before.
