A few days ago we were guests of honour in the opening of ‘Casa de Citas’, a new multidisciplinary space for art where the public can come closer to the artist and its work. This new space is very much related to volomir.com because the idea came from the head of our collaborator Beatriz Mercader.
The proposal is to create 1-on-1 dates with artists in which one can get to know more about the artist’s work and technique used. In this initiative there is space for classic workshops, exhibitions, lectures on topics of interest and also an online catalogue to view and purchase artist’s work. All this happens in an inhabited house which opens its doors for a short period of time to the curious and the audacious.
At the opening we were able to see an exhibition of 10 artists from different disciplines, where there was also a demonstration of virtual reality, live music, and beer, lots of beer, courtesy of Cervezas Ámbar, as well as the very dangerous Sangría Don Pepe. Here you have some pictures of what happened there.
The proximity and flexibility of this new space that just opened in Madrid will allow us to explore the world of art and galleries. Thanks to the joint effort between volomir.com and ‘Casa de Citas’, we will also join forces to try to integrate modeling, and more specifically, the world of miniature figure creation, which is what interests us, within a circuit that is traditionally more focused on conventional art.
At the opening of the space we had the chance of meeting several great artists, friends and well-known names from the world of fantasy figure modeling in our country, such as Alfonso Giraldes “Banshee”, Diego Esteban “Dieguete” (Hera Models), Toni Nieto (his art was also part of the exhibit), David de Blas (The Chromatic Circle) or Leonardo Escovar (Miniature Madness).
‘Casa de Citas’ is therefore a new home in Madrid for art lovers, where through workshops, exhibitions, interviews and all kinds of unconventional actions, we will also encourage the world of figure creation to develop out of the usual.
Welcome!
