As part of the Spire of Dawn Christmas in volomir.com, here comes the High Elves Sea Guard, the first of the units of the High Elf army taken back from the old Volomir’s Blog.
The High Elves Sea Guard unit was painted as part of my future High Elves army which I started with the elf prince of Tribute to the Fallen (soon to come make a comeback to volomir.com). I know I won’t finish my army anytime soon, as already I have proved true. Maybe I will die before I see them completed, but it’s something i’d love to have. The High Elves Sea Guard went to the Spanish Golden Demon 2011 and they won Gold in the Fantasy Unit category.
Behind the scenes: Step by Step Article
HI Volomir,
Your High Elves are a constant source of inspiration and motivation to strive to improve my skills as well as keep painting my own collection of Elves. I am looking forward to seeing more, new units in the future. I just hope you will keep them on square/rectangular bases 🙂
Cheers!
Hi Pawel! I am considering options on the elves… once I have my studio back I intend to at least finish that Phoenix Guard that is still pending, and then move on to new stuff. I think I will stick to rectangular bases but I’m not entirely sure about it. It will all depend on the aesthetic of each different unit.
Would you consider so called multi-basing as in Kings of War where you can create a scenic base for the whole unit?
That is an option indeed… it would help in cases where there are a lot of minis and I don’t need to care so much about all the views! It would speed up painting a lot!
